We are currently looking for a Product Owner Payments ready to join our adventure, share our ambition and help shape the future of digital banking.

What you will be doing?

In this role, you will lead a dedicated payment product team comprising analysts, developers, and testers. You will act as the connector between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring the delivery of robust payment solutions. You will hold responsibility for the product roadmap, backlog prioritization, and commercial success, while fostering a collaborative environment for your team to thrive.

1. Business Ownership & Strategy

  • Strategy & P/L: Define the strategy for the payments vertical, holding ownership for the product P/L, including revenue, margin growth, and pricing strategies.

  • Market Success: Drive commercial success by running product discovery, benchmarking global trends, and developing Unique Selling Propositions (USPs).

  • Funnel Management: Maintain ultimate ownership of the product origination funnel, optimizing the conversion of leads into booked products.

  • Financial Modeling: Run simulations to derive the expected financial impact of product changes, new promotions, or re-pricing.

2. Product Management & Payments Domain

  • Payment Schemes & Features: Oversee the lifecycle of domestic and international payment rails, including Elixir, Express Elixir, SORBNET, SWIFT, and SEPA.

  • Core Functionalities: Design and manage key product capabilities including Liquidity Management (Cash Pooling), Virtual Accounts, Direct Debits, Standing Orders, Batch Payments, as well as Split Payment Mechanism (MPP) and the White List of VAT Payers.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with the comprehensive regulatory framework affecting payment products. This includes EU and local regulationsPSD2AML/CTF standards, and tax-related requirements.

  • Standardization: Lead the migration and alignment with ISO20022 standards and manage MT/MX message formats.

  • Documentation: Ensure high standards for solution design documentation in Jira, including Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Supplier Management: Procure and manage relationships with external suppliers, including contract ownership and facilitation of GDPR/Security assessments.

3. Delivery Team Leadership

  • People Management: Act as the Line Manager for your product delivery team, empowering your people and shaping the team structure.

  • Agile Leadership: Execute the role of the Scrum Lead for agile rituals (release planning, sprint planning, scope grooming) and monitor team velocity.

  • Backlog Management: Define and prioritize the backlog based on business value and customer needs.

  • Testing & Quality: Specify test cases, oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and make the final decision on product readiness for commercial launch.

Skills you should have

  • Product Expertise: 5+ years of experience in fintech or banking, with a primary focus on driving product development from a business perspective.

  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the payments landscape, including Elixir, SORBNET, SWIFT, SEPA, and ISO20022.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Solid knowledge of EU and local regulations impacting payments, including PSD2AML/CTF, and relevant tax mechanisms.

  • Managerial Experience: Proven track record in people management, strategic planning, and P/L responsibility.

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze market dynamics, run financial simulations, and quickly learn evolving regulations.

  • Communication: Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to efficiently communicate in both Polish and English.

  • Technical Fluency: Familiarity with API integrations, Microservices architecture, and JIRA.
